For us this hotel was a surprise. It is located in the hart of the Vale do Lobo area and is really a sports centre. Big gym, indoor and outdoor pool, driving range are all on site. Nice atmosphere with very friendly staff. We had a super twin room, really big, with balcony overlooking the pool and driving range. The bathroom could not have been better with a large shower. We stayed out of season (November), and the hotel restaurant was closed. Almancil village was about 10 minutes drive with plenty of restaurants. Wireless internet is for free in the lobby but we did not manage to get that to work and could use the hotel computer in the lobby instead. The breakfast buffet is very basic, but you can order cooked breakfast seperately.
The hotel has 2 floors but no elevator and to reach reception you need to climb quite some steps, carrying your luggage. If you have problems walking, you'll find it difficult to reach your room or even reception.

The room was excellent in size with all facilities we required.
Each night we were awakened by rowdy people returning to the hotel. A sign reminding these people that other guests might be asleep (at 5am)may help to reduce this problem. The breakfast facilities are a little sparse and we weren`t aware to begin with, that there are a number of "levels" available.

Our second stay thoroughly enjoyed - they are doing some great themed nights at very competitive prices to bring in both guests and locals.
Lunch/ dinner service a bit hit and miss with time taken to produce food.

Barringtons has an excellent swiming pool, a spa and other liesure facilities as well as good connections wth local golf courses. The accomodation is good and the parking is easy and it is only 15 minutes walking to one of the most attractives beaches in the Algarve beach
We were totaly satisfied with the service and facilities of the hotel

It is very well placed, nearby one of the most gorgeous places from ALgarve.
The room was not very clean, dust and dead insects were almost every where. The worst was the breakfast room, the 2 brekfasts we had there everything was desorganized, garbage all over the tables, everything very very unpleasant. We left a complaint with the frontdesk lady, I hope this will lead in to a better service....

staff were very friendly/helpful - esp. reception staff;, food/drink/theme nights (particularly bbq) good value
would have given "excellent" for staff if managers had held their business meetings behind closed doors rather than in reception areas of hotel; thought it a bit mean to charge 20 euros to hire squash rachets; mini bar should be sealed to stop over-enthusiastic kids from raiding it (!)

No lifts - we had to carry all our bags up to room. I was travelling with 3 over 60s and 3 children so this was not fun!

Reception staff were excellent but it was sometimes hard to find other staff to serve drinks etc.
Lack of disabled access, only stairways for access.

Hotel facilities were good, but food and beverage staff were a bit lost when it came to service.

The accomodation and facilities are very good, rooms were extremely clean, the gym very well equipped and all areas were very clean. The food and drink is exceptional value for money and are at least half the price of anywhere else in the area.
The English members of staff that work in the bar are not as customer focused as all other members of staff.

Another lovely stay at Barringtons. We have become regulars since we sold our house in the area.We arrived too early for our room but the staff were so kind and helpful getting it ready for us in no time at all. I was ill during my stay and reception provided me with some medicine. On our departure we were allowed to keep our room until late afternoon. I offered to pay but was charged nothing - this really made such a lovely difference to the quality of our last day. My only small critisism is that the breakfast room is very airless in the mornings. It seems such a shame that none of the windows open. Will be back soon. Thank you.Luisa Tulloch
